Knives Out
Solo: Vera Draven
Benoit Blanc & Jud Duplenticy
General likes and prompts for this request:
* Optional ships: Blanc/Phillip, Blanc/Jud/Phillip, Blanc/Jud UST and/or pining, Vera/Grace's ghost, Vera/OFC(s).
* Clashing approaches and priorities (as long as all requested characters are on good terms with each other at the end of the story). Characters contributing different skill-sets to solving the problem.
* Taking a case to protect someone, whether they're innocent but unjustly accused (a Blanc classic), guilty but justified or sympathetic (I love this for Jud, and also for Vera reluctantly protecting Cy), or simply caught in the crossfire.
* Solving a very cold case, where there's essentially no physical evidence left and all that remains is talking to people and sorting out contradictions.
* Jud is getting death threats or poison pen letters for being anti-Wicks (and maybe some people, despite the evidence, even think he's guilty of murder). He's pretending it's all nothing (even though it clearly bothers him), but Blanc disagrees and decides to track the responsible parties down.
* Vera searches for Eve's Apple, either to satisfy her own curiosity or because she could use the fortune (and Cy's not looking for it with her, is he?). I'm fine with her finding the stone but choosing to leave it where it is, finding it and taking it but not turning it over to Cy, or not finding it but finding something else worthwhile instead.
* Vera gets involved, despite her better judgment, in solving a problem related to some shady but technically legal grift Cy is trying out. Does a partner take advantage of him and threaten to cut him out of some deal? Is it all blowing up in his face? Does she need or want to solve the problem in a way he won't approve of (like fixing his legal liability issues but also torpedoing whatever unethical plan he's involved in because she knows it's bullshit)?
* Jud is taken hostage (and Blanc is trying to rescue him), or Jud and Blanc are taken hostage together, or Blanc is taken hostage and Jud has to play negotiator. I love all possible variations on this (and would welcome any accompanying whump). Jud trying to empathize with the hostage taker(s) and work out what they need to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution? Blanc doing complex three-D chess to bring down a shittier hostage taker or help out a more sympathetic one? Presumed dead could combine very well with this.
* Anything unpacking the ramifications of there still being a lot of people out there who believe in a resurrected Wicks, like debunking faked miracles done in his name or investigating supposed "mysterious reappearances."
* Vera in some kind of legal thriller setup! What's her first trial or legal case once she's no longer attached to Wicks and the church? She wanted to help people and have an impact on the world, so does she get involved with a class-action lawsuit? Defend a railroaded suspect? Does she ever need to call in Blanc?
* Anything with Vera and a sort of noir feeling, including Vera getting involved with a possible femme fatale who walks into her office with a story. (Vera/women is very welcome.)
Andor
Cassian Andor & Luthen Rael
Saw Gerrera & Luthen Rael
Saw Gerrera/Luthen Rael
General likes and prompts for this request:
* Missionfic with competing approaches and moral lines in the sand: Cassian, Luthen, and Saw all have differing levels of ruthlessness, different approaches to forming alliances on the fly, different overall visions for the future, different views on accelerationist tactics, etc., and I'd love to see them grappling with that in the field, especially if there's some kind of ticking clock.
* Any kind of missionfic necessitating urgent field medicine hurt/comfort for anyone involved.
* AU where either Saw or Cassian needs to help extract Luthen (and potentially Kleya as well, if she's not off-planet) from Coruscant in a scenario where it's become obvious that Dedra is closing in. Alternately, AU where Luthen needs to extract Saw from some Imperial trap, and he has to make the decision to burn his cover identity to do it. (I'd also just love for Saw to see him in his antique dealer persona.)
* Luthen and Saw meet for the first time when they're both independently working on the same mission from different ends; naturally, one of them almost dies. (Do they hook up?) Alternately, they meet because Saw believes he can use this "soft" antique dealer for his own ends and get him to smuggle weapons or information for the Partisans, but then he finds out who Luthen really is.
* Luthen and Cassian go to recruit a very ancient, very alien ally to their cause, but winning the trust and allegiance—however temporary—of what is effectively a cosmic horror requires a lot of trials and risks.
* Cassian bears a strong resemblance to some minor, backwater Imperial figure who could nonetheless be very useful (maybe they need some resource he's controlling, or some specific information he can only access in a meeting, or he has to make a particular speech they can slant their way), so Luthen has to talk him through assuming his lookalike's identity for a period while they stash the real guy elsewhere.
* Saw's rhydonium fuel has been poisoned, leaving him in serious peril or badly hurt: Luthen is the one person he trusts to investigate who could have been responsible (though he's not ruling out that Luthen could have been responsible, actually).
* Sabotage, assassinations, heists, reconnoitering enemy terrain, honeypot assignments and debriefing/comfort afterwards. Saw and Luthen permanently stuck on "it's complicated." Saw and Luthen as weird exes with a lot of bitterness but a lot of twisty affection. Complex, guarded affection between Luthen and Cassian.
Solo: Mon Mothma
General likes and prompts for this request:
* Any Mon & Luthen, Mon & Vel, or Mon/Perrin interaction (whether tired and full of secrets but also a bit bittersweet or in a full-on AU where she's able to be open with him and it changes everything).
* Espionage assignments that have to be carried out in plain sight (and in an elegant, decorous way, no less). More elaborate, ceremonial events like the wedding with her being in the middle of a colorful, mannered experience while she has to, say, ferret out a potential traitor or suss out or recruit a new ally.
* Mon is the only person who has the necessary access to poison a major Imperial figure who needs to urgently be taken out for [x] reasons, but she still has to figure out when and how to make her move—and how to get away with it. I'd also love to see her grappling with the emotional fallout of having committed a much more direct murder.
* A pre-canon Mon unearths a conspiracy hidden in plain sight. Can she figure out a way to sabotage or ameliorate it, or is this simply what sets her on the path to rebellion?
* She has a risky, physically dangerous mission—maybe it's post-canon and no one else is available? It's pre-canon but she hasn't made any contacts yet?--and has to pull it off alone even after she gets injured in the process. If it's before or during canon, I'd love it if she then had to go to some Senate or Chandrillan high society event and keep playing through the pain in a different context, too. Give me all the missionfic-related whump, basically.
* Casefic related to funding the Rebellion, like having to get involved with a knotty will resolution and effectively solve a Golden Age mystery in space so she can collect a major donation (and maybe a little bit of useful leverage as well). Alien cultural details are incredibly welcome, as are SF riffs on mystery traditions like the country house gathering.
* Mon, along with some of her staff, is taken hostage by a pro-Empire extremist who doesn't know the full extent of her actions but doesn't like her "ineffectual do-gooder" front, either; she has to manage the hostage taker's reactions to keep everyone alive, but what if they start up some dangerous lines of questioning? Can she keep her secret with all this going on?
* She has to use her (somewhat) protected position to smuggle some valuable physical item or document through a heavily guarded checkpoint. What happens if the initial plan goes wrong? How can she improvise a hiding place or otherwise avoid detection?
The Pitt
Solo: Trinity Santos
General likes and prompts for this request:
* Optional ships: Santos/Garcia, Santos/Javadi, Santos/Mel. Any platonic relationships like Santos & Whitaker. The only reason I didn't request these was just because I wasn't sure I could come up with prompts involving everyone: I love all these options.
* Stressful, gritty, exhausting work. Commiseration and companionship in the trenches (anyone from the ensemble is welcome to appeal—I'm fond of everybody and happy to see Santos interacting with them, especially if there's some mutual affection or at least respect beneath any prickliness). Solving medical mysteries when you're tired and snarky and dealing with trauma.
* Medical mysteries of all sorts. Mysterious symptoms, evolving systems, unpredictable presentations. (I will not grade you on accuracy or plausibility.) Frantically trying to treat symptoms while figuring out whatever disease or injury is behind them. Getting a correct diagnosis but having to try multiple treatment strategies because nothing seems to be working.
* Perilous hospital situations that Santos is positioned to have to defuse! What if one of her patients is taken hostage within the hospital (maybe a kid by an aggrieved parent) or there's an attempted abduction, and security is unavailable for too far away to act, so she needs to do it? She's not exactly the diplomatic hostage negotiator type, after all …. There's a bomb threat called in from the hospital itself, and Santos realizes she has a good guess about who the bomber is, if she can only keep an eye on them? Santos whump or h/c is very welcome in any scenario.
* Paranormal/supernatural medical problem? She has a patient who's a pacifist vampire in desperate need of blood, and she has to figure that out and get them fed? She has a patient with a mysterious dog bite who is turning into a werewolf? She has an alien patient who needs to be protected from mysterious government agents coming after them? I just want to see her figuring out something that's way beyond the bounds of normal medicine and then acting to help someone.
* Ultra-whumpy option: Santos gets poisoned at the hospital. In classic "24 hours to find the antidote before it's fatal" fashion, once she realizes what's happened, she takes on the investigating herself (with allies or entirely in secret, whatever you prefer) and tries to figure out who's responsible. Maybe other doctors are working on reverse-engineering an antidote in the meantime, but it might not work or might be too late? Maybe, for handwave-y reasons, it can only come from the poisoner? Either way, I love the delicious whump and hurt/comfort of her suffering more and more symptoms as she's frantically trying to solve her own attempted murder. (Please let her make it out alive and heal okay, and please have the responsible party not be part of the cast.)
I have gifts enabled, and treats are very welcome!
