Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm very much looking forward to coming up with over-the-top candy comparisons for my gift. Some of these sections are longer than others based on number of characters requested and number of prompts I could come up with and/or link together, but I'd be thrilled with a gift for anything here.
I'm
scioscribe on AO3 and
scioscribe on Tumblr.
And thank you again! I hope you have a great exchange.

Misery - Stephen King
Misery Chastain
Trick or Treat
Fic or Art
+ Gloriously OTT Old School romance novel cover art! Brooding Gothic romance novel cover art! I'm up for seeing past Misery books or Misery Returns or the cover or illustrations of some imagined future installment, which could be as weird and horror-laden or as romantic and fluffy as you like.
+ Anything with Misery/Geoffrey/Ian, ideally as a triangle rather than a V. I love how chock full of pining those novel excerpts are, and I'm always up for reading about repressed Victorians circling each other. Fraught hand-holding, hurt/comfort, pulpy adventures, stumbling into horror stories… anything with this OT3 would make me happy.
+ Misery develops enough reality to help rescue Paul from Annie.
+ Dark version: Misery develops reality because of Annie's "fan love" and she, not Paul, becomes Annie's pet/prisoner, alternately fawned over and terrorized. I'm down with incredibly creepy Misery/Annie in this situation. And hey, Misery's superpower is basically surviving endlessly terrible and over-the-top situations, so how could she conceivably play Scheherazade or otherwise save herself?
+ Anything meta would make me very dorkily happy. Reviews of Misery Returns or some other books starring her, or of a movie adaptation? Excerpts from Misery series fanfic?
Friday the 13th Movies
Jason Voorhees, Pamela Voorhees
Trick or Treat
Fic or Art
Fandom-specific DNW: Freddy Krueger, the elaborate Crystal Lake tunnel system from the remake movie.
+ I love how balls-to-the-wall ridiculous this series gets. Trip to far-future space station complete with Jason battling an android? Jason getting blown up by the FBI and getting coverage on what's basically 60 Minutes? New York regularly flooding its own sewage system every night with toxic waste? Showdown with a telekinetic teenager? That's all just canon. So anything goes here--feel free to set up some absolutely batshit premise or crossover. Jason Takes Narnia! Jason finds his mother's soul reborn in a different body! Pamela Voorhees survives as a severed head! Go nuts.
+ Similarly, I love how the series never entirely gets into why Jason, who died as a young boy, has somehow returned from the dead as a hulking, fully grown adult in a hockey mask, so I'm up for Jason and Pamela: The Missing Years. Did Jason Come Back Wrong? Did Pamela spend all those years raising him to help her take revenge on promiscuous camp counselors? Did he come back to life only after his mother's death, and the body he's in actually belongs to yet another counselor? Did Pamela kill anyone before the start of the first movie?
+ Crystal Lake off-season! I support the We Hate Movies podcast on this: I want a Jason movie set during the winter. Give me art of glum Jason in a parka. Jason and/or Pamela in terrible Christmas sweaters. Jason in the ski mask and snowshoes or ice-skates. Jason stalking his prey via cross-country skiing.
+ Pamela Voorhees creepily interacting with campers, smiling while she plans their murders--terrifying or satirical or both. Similarly, unnerving or hilarious Jason-POV. What does he think about ending up in space? How much does he think at all? Does he have any conscious awareness that he's sometimes spending years at the bottom of a lake? (Art of submerged Jason would also be really cool, whether it's haunting or just Jason hanging out with fish.)
Ginger Snaps
Brigitte Fitzgerald, Ginger Fitzgerald
Trick
Fic
Under-sixteen explicit sex is okay for this as long as they're at least at their canon ages.
+ Any and all dark, creepy Ginger/Brigitte. Xeno werewolf sex. Period sex. Dubcon and noncon, with tons of complicated feelings. Brigitte becoming convinced that she can provide Magical Healing Vagina to help her sister turn human again. Possessiveness and animalistic desires. Total, consuming obsession.
+ Aaaooooo, werewolves of suburbia! I'd love to see something where the lycanthropy is more controllable/easier to conceal, and Ginger is able to continue a kind of normal life--mostly at Brigitte's insistence--while also being a monster. Luring someone away from a block party to kill and eat them? Eating a teacher to forestall a pop quiz? Basically just the two of them living in a kind of pastel, earnest world while this horror's going on.
+ Historical Ginger and Brigitte living in the woods together as werewolves, transforming into folklore. I'd love seeing some post-Ginger Snaps Back outsider-POV stories doing in any kind of nineteenth century pastiche or found document format.
+ Or what if, as werewolves, the prequel characters are immortal, and wind up surviving to meet their 2000s counterparts and interacting with them? Does that push 2000s Ginger and Brigitte away from the risk of lycanthropy, forcing them to battle against their ancestors/other selves? Or do the Brigitte and Ginger from the past subtly mold these human girls until they're eager to follow in their footsteps? Ginger/Brigitte/Ginger/Brigitte? 2000s Brigitte and Ginger, werewolf hunters, because they're lashing out not just against their parents' lifestyle but their ancestors' in general?
The Hateful Eight
Marquis Warren, Chris Mannix
Trick or Treat
Fic
+ I'll always love any and all hurt/comfort for these two. They're caught in terrible weather again? Maybe this time they're stuck in the desert and suffering from heat-stroke, because they just can't win. Grudging I-totally-don't-care h/c during illness or injury? Rape recovery? Rampages of rescue and/or revenge? And if you combined any of this with loyalty kink, I'd probably die of delight.
+ And any and all kinky porn. I never get tired of Warren just domming the life out of Mannix and Mannix loving it, even if he can't admit it. Bootkissing/bootlicking? Bondage? Knifeplay or gunplay? Dirty talk? Humiliation? Unexpected tenderness?
+ I'd love to bring their backgrounds messily into play even more than they already are. If you have any ideas about anything Warren was doing pre-movie, I'd love to see that, whether it's his friendship with Minnie or him seizing an opportunity for clever, bloody revenge during the war or him alternately working and conning his way into power and status. Has he ever had any ongoing, long-term detailed lies besides the Lincoln letter? And I've always loved the idea of Mannix's father or brothers somehow coming face-to-face with Warren/Mannix, whether that's an AU where Erskine Mannix lived longer or an AU where Warren and Mannix met earlier and under different circumstances. I'm just excited for any situation that forces Mannix to switch loyalties to Warren in front of his family. And you just know Warren would relish the potential to fuck Mannix in front of them, making it either hot for him to do so or kind of sweet for him to forego it for Mannix's sake.
+ Any blending-up of this canon with the supernatural. Do they stay on as ghosts haunting Minnie's, or wind up ghosts who are scattered to different places and have to make their way back to each other? Is the danger in Minnie's actually a shapeshifter who can assume the form of anyone there, leaving them unsure of who to trust? (I love a good homage to The Thing.) Is the blizzard they're stuck in somehow apocalyptic? Do one or both of them travel back in time or wake up, Peggy Sue-style, earlier in their lives? Do they try to find each other then?
IT - Movies
Beverly Marsh, Eddie Kaspbrak, Mike Hanlon, Richie Tozier, Stanley Uris
Trick or Treat
Fic
Relationships I especially like: Richie/Eddie, Richie/Stan, Bill/Mike, Bev/Ben, OT7, and all platonic combinations within the group.
+ Suppose all of them lived in Chapter 2, including Stan. And then they had to find their way out of the sewers/some mystical dream-space via an orgy, because apparently that's how directions work in Stephen King Land. I would just really love a hot, tender adult Losers orgy.
+ Tender post-Chapter 2 get-together fic (Everybody Lives as Necessary) for any of my ships. Does Bill accompany Mike on his post-Derry travels? (Mike, you should definitely get your rich friends to foot the bill for some of that.) Richie/Stan or Richie/Eddie slowly embracing, for the first time, the possibility of an actual open relationship? Bev and Ben setting up their lives together and Bev enjoying being with someone who's actually kind to her? OT7 or Losers friendship fic where they just all continue to be part of each other's lives in ways big and small? I actually have a huge soft spot for domesticity stories if they're in the aftermath of trauma, so I would totally read a whole fic that's just "the Losers help one person in their group move/do home repairs" or "the Losers spend a holiday together."
+ I'd love to see Mike dealing with the burden of being the only one who remembers--does he ever try to contact his friends in the intervening years? Does he realize at some point that they've slipped totally away from him? How does he feel about being the lighthouse-keeper and having to stay with all these nightmares? What does the town think about him? Does he ever worry about his own sanity?
+ Any between-movies looks at the others would be great, too. How does Bev start up her business? What are her last interactions with her father like? What's Richie's arc in the standup comedy world? (And does he wind up doing more honest, personal material after the movie?) Slightly uncomfortable Eddie/Myra? Odd run-ins where two of them meet by coincidence and it's awkward/fraught/hot/unnerving?
+ AU where it's someone else, and not Mike, who stays in Derry? Or where more/all of them stay, and keep their memories, and grow up tense and weird and ready to fight monsters?
+ And any and all horror--feel free to go more eldritch and cosmic and dream beyond the clowns. Ghosts of Stan or Eddie or Georgie, genuine and sad or malevolent and false? Lives outside of Derry still being followed by a ripple effect of strangeness? The abyss staring back into Mike? The "ritual of Chüd" requires everyone to get high and fight Pennywise in a surreal dreamscape where they're not sure of what's real? The ritual is real, but its requirements are demanding and terrifying--i.e., they have to sacrifice more than just tokens? Something goes horribly wrong and the seven of them kill Pennywise only to themselves become an unnatural force haunting Derry and returning in cycles of Fuck This Town horror and vengeance?
Star Trek - AOS
Christopher Pike, Gaila, Hikaru Sulu, James T. Kirk, Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, Nyota Uhura, Pavel Chekov, Spock, Spock Prime
Treat
Fic
Relationships I especially like: Kirk/Pike, Gaila/Kirk, Gaila/Uhura, Sulu/Chekov, Kirk/McCoy, Scotty/Uhura, Kirk/Spock Prime, Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Spock/Uhura, Kirk & Pike, Kirk & McCoy, Kirk & Spock Prime, Spock & Spock Prime, McCoy & Spock Prime, Kirk & Uhura, Enterprise crew.
+ That's a lot of characters and possible relationships, so very generally: I'm particularly fond of the gap period between the first two movies. I love crew-fic for this canon. I love exploring the extremely different conditions of the AOS universe, where Starfleet has been severely and suddenly reduced and this ship is being staffed by a lot of relatively inexperienced officers who are sort of figuring it out as they go along. Love the angsty potential of the loss of Vulcan and what a huge thing that must be for Spock to deal with. I love humor and snarkiness and hurt/comfort and loyalty and angsty pining and rom-com-style premises. I love the pathos of Spock Prime and his bonds with his younger self/the same-but-different versions of his old friends. Love the simultaneously relaxed and frenetic shipboard atmosphere. Love alien worldbuilding.
+ All the tropey goodness! Sex pollen, aliens made them do it, fake marriage, character has to let themselves be hurt for the good of someone else, friends with benefits to lovers, person is convinced they're the only one pining, rape recovery, character is exhausted but has to stay on their feet for hours because of a crisis, only one bed, Everything is the Same Except Starfleet Practices Corporal Punishment for Some Reason and There is Angst and/or Sexiness, character captured as a slave, character undercover as a slave, flirting "covertly" in what they think is a code, characters rallying around to support someone, any kind of Harlequin-style romance plot, shipwrecked on an isolated planet, time travel, amnesia.
+ Canon-divergence AUs! Earth is destroyed along with Vulcan or instead of Vulcan? Pike retains command of the Enterprise after the first movie, so Kirk doesn't make an unprecedented cadet-to-captain jump? F/F-driven AU where Uhura and Gaila are the human-and-alien pair who help save the planet?
+ Competence porn, basically. I'd love to see any of these characters just doing their stuff and saving little parts of the universe.
+ Random character things I love: Spock's occasional bitchiness and how he hasn't entirely worked out the balance he wants between logic and emotions. The possibilities of tons of emotional h/c following the destruction of Vulcan. Pike's snarkiness and resilience and his mentorship of Kirk (Into Darkness AU where he survives to make Kirk his First Officer as promised?). Gaila is less developed in canon, but I love fleshing her out as a character in her own right, the kind of person who would get along easily and well with both Academy-era Kirk and Uhura, an engineer, and someone from a race that usually gets treated as a generic sex icon. Sulu's willingness to plunge into danger with a sword and be a total badass. Chekov's general adorableness. Kirk's combination of arrogance and insecurity and his total willingness to die for someone he cares about at the drop of a hat. Uhura's sharpness and calm-and-unimpressed vibe and compassion and linguistics skills. McCoy's caretaking streak and grumpiness and deep vulnerability to puppy eyes. Scotty's ethics and extremely disorganized genius and general friendliness.
Star Trek - TOS
Edith Keeler, Gary Mitchell, James T. Kirk, Janice Rand, Mirror Nyota Uhura, Nyota Uhura, Spock, T'Pring
Treat
Fic
Relationships I especially like: Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Edith Keeler, Kirk/Spock/Edith Keeler, Rand/Uhura, Mirror Uhura/Mirror Rand, Mirror Uhura/anyone, Uhura/T'Pring, T'Pring/T'Pau, Kirk & Spock, Kirk & Spock & McCoy, Spock & McCoy, Kirk & Gary Mitchell, Kirk & Rand, Rand & Uhura, Spock & T'Pring, T'Pring & T'Pau, Enterprise crew.
+ As with AOS, that's a lot of characters and relationships, so here's a general outlay of TOS stuff I always love. Five-year mission fic and old married couples and friendships. I love the more controlled professionalism of TOS and love seeing that put through the wringer, turning characters into stoic woobies who try to deal with their suffering as best as they can. I love the camaraderie. I love it whenever Kirk epically bluffs his way through a situation. I love the show's general fondness for ethics and compassion and peace. I love the alien planets and culture and the sheer weirdness of some of them. Adore hurt/comfort and loyalty and honor and pining and laidback humor.
And then this is going to get ridiculously long, because the character prompts don't overlap as much. /facepalm
+ I'd love to see anything from Edith's perspective during "The City on the Edge of Forever," and get an in-depth look at her thoughts and feelings about Kirk and Spock. Or an AU where Edith is also displaced in time somehow, a 1930s social worker who goes to the future but knows she has to let the Enterprise be destroyed for some further-on greater good? Or they fix the timeline not be letting her die but by taking her with them--I'd love anything that's just Edith Keeler exploring the future and all it holds.
+ Gary Mitchell kind of gets made into the Designated Asshole, and actually, if you want to just use him as a bad ex-boyfriend to whump Kirk or Spock, I'm kind of fine with it: bring on the angst. But I also love more complex portrayals of him, where he maybe has a certain manipulative streak and arrogance but can also be a good and loyal friend. I'd love pre-canon stories with him, at the Academy or on the ship. Or it could be cool to see an AU where there's some cure for what happens to him and he's able to scale down from superpowers and megalomania--but has to live with what he did and felt during that time. Or a dark Gary Wins AU where he somehow gains control of the ship and/or the universe. Or sad "my true self came back to me just as I was dying" fic.
+ Kirk! Like I said, I love any and all outrageous bluffing. I love his "fight or flirt" approach to danger and his geeky streak and the fact that he apparently gushes about the stars when he gets drunk. He's my favorite target of whump, so absolutely feel free to bring that on in any capacity, especially if he has to soldier on through it for a long time. Just--do terrible things to him and I will eat it up with a spoon. I love him caring about his crew and his ship. I adore Kirk/Spock pining and discovery of mutual feelings and romantic gestures. I know there have been a million pon farr stories, but I will always read another one. There is no romance setup too tropey or cliche for me to not love it with these two.
+ Rand! If you've read Enterprise: The First Adventure, I really love Rand's ultra-woobie backstory there, where she's only recently gotten out of slavery before joining up with the Enterprise, and she has a pretty steep learning curve with getting used to people not being terrible. So I'm happy to see that incorporated if you'd like, but also happy to see any other directions. I love what we see of her friendship with Uhura. I love administrative professionals and assistants in general, so Rand competence-porn is right up my alley: I'd love to see her saving the day somehow. I like her warm, occasionally flirtatious relationship with Kirk. I love her extremely elaborate hair. I'm always curious as to what she would have been up to in the Mirror-verse--maybe she and Uhura could carve out a niche for themselves? I'd love any get-together stuff for her and Uhura generally--everything from flirtation to angsty "Uhura rescues Rand from slavery" fic to accidental marriage setups.
+ Uhura and Mirror Uhura! I love what we can deduce about Mirror Uhura's life, which is apparently a constant, dangerous minefield of self-protection; I'd love to see more of her. Maybe she's able to enact a coup and seize power of the Enterprise. Maybe she and Mirror Rand are having a scorchingly hot affair. Maybe she gets to hook up with Mirror T'Pring! And I love regular Uhura too--her warmth, her love of music, her camaraderie with everyone (the hug she gives Chapel as Chapel goes off to find her husband is one of my favorite background details), and her skills. It would be great to see the crew rally around her for something--maybe she's been falsely accused of a crime?
+ Spock! Everything I said about K/S in the Kirk section still applies here--I adore them and all their possibilities. I love Spock's compassion and dry humor and the clear enjoyment he takes in his friends, whether that's openly warm or bickering and playful. I love his devotion to finding non-violent solutions--at least right up until someone else's life is threatened. I love his occasional angst about whether or not he's indulging his emotions too much or, conversely, whether or not he's boxing himself out of happiness. I love the weird emotional depths of Vulcan culture and how he interacts with them. "Mentally whump the telepath" always appeals to me. So does anything with Spock attempting to parse unfamiliar bits of human culture--and, for that matter, I love the idea of him believing that some Vulcan ritual or custom is universal, and other people not picking up on that. Love the long life-span and how he knows he's going to basically outlive everyone.
+ T'Pring! I adore her "Machiavelli in a Jane Austen novel" vibe and how she ruthlessly arranges events to get her own way in a culture that's not organized to her advantage. I would totally just read about T'Pring ambitiously moving up in Vulcan society and someday becoming T'Pau's successor. I love the potential for T'Pring/Uhura--maybe T'Pring joins Starfleet or maybe Uhura comes to Vulcan in her Academy days for some kind of study abroad. Any Vulcan worldbuilding with her would be amazing. I'd also always love a glimpse of her and Spock as children together, or of her growing up with this betrothal hanging over her head and shaping her life even as she meets Stonn and forms her own desires.
Twin Peaks
Audrey Horne, Laura Palmer
Treat
Fic
Relationships I especially like: Audrey/Cooper, Audrey/Laura, Laura/Cooper, Audrey/Laura/Cooper.
Fandom-specific DNW: institutionalized Audrey (I love supernatural explanations for her S3 status, though).
+ Golden Age of Hollywood AU. I can just see Laura as a tragic Golden Age actress with a lot of hushed-up drug/alcohol/sex scandals. Is she still dealing with BOB and his possession of her father, while also trying to manage an acting career and the fragile life of being a public daydream? Is she murdered, bringing all of this to light? Is she having a secret affair with Audrey, another actress? And Audrey and Cooper both have a kind of displaced in time feeling, so I could easily see them playing out a romance under these conditions. Is he an established actor while she's trying to break into the world? Are they both drawn to each other becasue they have a kind of innocence amidst all the experience, and that's something the rest of their world lacks, no matter how polished and pretty it is on the surface?
+ For season three, I really like the idea of Audrey being the one to discover the newly returned Cooper--still an amnesiac “Dougie”--and helping to restore his memory, or having her reappearance trigger part of the restoration of his memory.
+ Surreal/fantasy-style/fairytale situations. Audrey or Cooper or both of them successfully rescuing Laura from the Black Lodge? Audrey as Little Red Riding Hood, walking through the woods and off the path, looking for her special agent, and maybe having to pick him out from a crowd of wolfish doppelgangers? Reenacting “The Snow Queen” and having to restore Cooper’s heart post-S2? Laura under a Sleeping Beauty enchantment that only Audrey or Cooper can lift? They’re in the woods together when there’s a sex pollen outbreak that means their first time is going to be an accelerated, desperate act, and even more vulnerable than usual?
+ Time loops and general time weirdness ("What year is it?")--traveling back before Laura's death (in a different way than S3), Laura having dreams of the future, Laura or Audrey stuck in a time loop or helping another character stuck in one, a character getting displaced in time and living their life asynchronously.
+ I would eat any pining or first-time stories for any of those ships up with a spoon. I feel like all these combinations have their own kind of bright-dark swoony romanticism to them, with the potential for pining even across dimensions and times and dream-worlds.
I'm
And thank you again! I hope you have a great exchange.
