Dear Chocolate Box Writer 2020

Thank you so much for making something for me! I'd love any content for any of these relationships, so please feel free to go in your own direction. If you want to get a general sense of me, I’m scioscribe on Tumblr and on AO3.

I have shorter prompts or fewer prompts in some cases, but that's just how it shook out in terms of what I could come up with: I'd be thrilled to get anything here.

All requests this year are for fic.

A Civil Contract - Georgette Heyer
Jenny Chawleigh/Adam Deveril

+ Marriage of convenience is a pretty bulletproof trope for me, and I love the way these two gradually settle into greater intimacy, understanding, and appreciation in the novel. Any little samples of that journey would be excellent, especially with Adam growing to appreciate Jenny or slowly discovering he finds her more attractive.

+ Their wedding night has always really intrigued me. Please give me all the awkward, bad, uncomfortable sex that they dutifully have and even dutifully try to make good--inasmuch as they're aware of how to do that, which might be debatable. It would also be great to see them gradually sexually thawing to each other, with maybe that thaw working alongside and/or facilitating emotional closeness. Or maybe sometimes what's happening in bed gets in the way of what's happening outside of it?

+ I actually really like marriages of convenience that are loving but not super romantic, so I'd love to see these two settled into happy, long-running domesticity, being really comfortable with each other and in love… just in a low-key kind of way. Basically, any old married couple tropes you can think of would work here for me. And I also, conversely, have a huge soft spot for Adam developing a more romantic appreciation of Jenny--in addition to Adam/Jenny, I also ship Jenny/getting everything she ever wanted, so "Adam realizes he's officially fallen in love with his wife" or "Adam makes a genuinely romantic gesture" or "Jenny realizes the depths of Adam's feelings" would all delight me.

+ Any teamwork! The two of them acting together and supporting each other or dealing with a crisis--maybe they're hosting a house party that's going horribly wrong? Maybe a family member or a friend is having some kind of dramatic Heyer-style problem? (I love the whole supporting cast and would be happy to see any of them again.) Maybe they're older and Giles is starring in his own frivolous Regency romance and his parents have to contend with it? Or maybe there's an actual serious crisis, like a local epidemic or a fire, and they get to be competent and warm and efficient and The Best Partners?

Dark Tower - Stephen King
Roland Deschain & Susannah Dean & Eddie Dean & Jake Chambers & Oy

+ Space opera AUs! Mid-World’s fallen technology level upped to spaceflight and space stations, especially creaky and unreliable ships and possibly haunted space stations, and the Tower is at the heart of the universe or its distant rim. Mejis is a world far away from Gilead and its culture is even more alien to Roland, and Roland’s culture to Susan. Roland has to teach his ka-tet to fly as well as to shoot. Eldritch space horrors. Thinny black holes. Alien worlds.

+ Time travel! The ka-tet ends up going back in time to the height of Gilead’s civilization or to the beginning of its fall. The ka-tet goes back and meets Susan; Susan goes forward in time and meets the ka-tet, which makes her relationship with Roland especially complicated (or young Roland comes forward with her, and the ka-tet has two Rolands roaming around, possibly causing paradoxes). Time travel is normal in Mid-World and just another way--if a dangerous one--to speed up transportation: oh, let’s flip back to the past where the roads were better to get through this part, here’s hoping we don’t go back to our time and immediately fall off a cliff.

+ I would love to see the rest of the ka-tet showing Roland around New York, even just as a snippet of calm in the middle of some kind of dangerous adventure. What if it’s something only one of the ka-tet members is really familiar with, or if it’s a part of Earth that they know by reputation but not in person? What if they land in twenty-first century New York? Roland, Susannah, and Eddie as Jake’s unconventional parents, either watching him grow up in Mid-World and experiencing little typical late kid/early teen snags or whether they end up on Earth in the aftermath of a saved Tower. And then they're trying to disguise Oy as a regular dog...

+ Gestures of affection! I am very sentimental about these four and would take any kind of excuse for group hugs and more subtle, unconventional gestures. I love all stripes of hurt/comfort, so if you injure one/some/all of them and let the comforting commence, I will be endlessly happy. I also really love gift-giving and have a deep soft spot for Eddie’s woodcarving.

+ Oy-eye view of the ka-tet. Literally anything with this would delight me. Oy has to go on a valiant journey to rescue his people? Oy on either side of any hurt/comfort scenario? Oy is the only one who can perceive some kind of supernatural phenomenon, and he has to protect his people from it and try to communicate with them?

+ Magical mishaps happen and they all have to deal. They accidentally time travel back to Gilead at its cultural peak? Eddie gets de-aged to his early teens and wants to know where the hell his brother is? Jake is having bad dreams that may or may not be visions? Susannah pulls an Orpheus and ventures into the afterlife to get her friends back?

Time Travelers Quartet - Caroline B. Cooney
Devonny Stratton/Lord Hugh-David Winden

+ I think these two may be the origin of my love of marriages of convenience. I love Hugh-David realizing what an ass he'd been and eventually plunging bravely into ridiculousness for Devonny's sake, and I've always liked to imagine them making the good marriage Devonny wants. Literally anything from that would make me happy. Show me them trying to deal with the crumbling Winden estates, Devonny getting used to living in England, the two of them teaming up against Winnie's mother and Devonny's father, etc. Anything.

+ Devonny demands the right to go on any of Winnie's trips abroad, and he agrees, so I'd love to see some of those--I just want to see them exploring the world together and having adventures. Do they someday pay for Flossie and Gianni to meet them in Italy? Does Devonny get to venture to Egypt to see Strat again and introduce him to her new husband?

+ Devonny's business that Winnie will support and not interfere with! (Even if he's still a little flabbergasted at the idea.) I totally love future businesswoman Devonny and the idea of her going on to become a powerhouse in her own right, and I love the idea of Winnie, as the novel says, loving her for her strength and appreciating her breaking through these kinds of barriers.

+ Anything with the two of them getting to really know each other, before or after the wedding. Winnie's had some time to grow up in Devonny's absence, and she's aware of how he's changed, but they're still relative strangers to each other. How does the remainder of the wedding planning go? When does mutual attraction start to factor into things? What do they wind up liking about each other? I'd just love to see any getting-to-know-you conversations or events, including ones where one of them starts off with a facade that then collapses.

+ Time intervenes again, this time sending Devonny and Winnie off on their own shared adventure into the past or future--a journey in which Devonny is obviously the more experienced traveler. Do they go to the 1990s again? Ancient Egypt? Or to somewhere entirely new in the series, into the English past or into some kind of far-future scenario? I'd just adore seeing the two of them as fish out of water together, trying to do what's right and figure out how to get home (or, for that matter, how to settle down quite happily in whatever new time period they land in).

Marvel Cinematic Universe
Bruce Banner & Valkyrie & Heimdall & Loki & Thor

Prompt-specific DNW: Infinity War/Endgame canon involving Asgardian deaths/Heimdall's death/Loki's death.

+ Any and all Revengers adventuring. I like to think of the journey to Earth as being long and full of pit stops. I love weird domesticity and practical arrangements, so I would 100% be into a story that’s just the five of them negotiating for fuel and food and working out the logistics of transporting Asgard’s population. Trade deals? The five of them having to act as roving heroes in exchange for goods and services? The headaches of committee meetings?

+ Dynamics-wise, I love how many tensions--quiet and otherwise--exist in this group. Bruce, even de-Hulked, doesn’t really want to be there and is constantly running into culture clashes; Valkyrie is still dealing with her drinking and her millennia of dissipated independence; Thor’s learning how to rule; Heimdall’s adjusting to a completely different role; Loki is Loki, neither particularly trusted by all of them nor particularly sure he should be trusted. So awkward, gradual bonding is also great, in any and all combinations. (And I do have a soft spot for intense, not-always-entirely-admitted Thor & Loki loyalty.)

+ The royal court of Asgard! What are the early days of Thor’s reign like? They’ve all just found out that Asgard had a bloody history, but they’ve also just lost their planet, so all the old ways are simultaneously tainted and cherished--what are they holding onto as far as rituals and traditions? Does Thor have a formal coronation? I love loyalty kink, so I’m also here for people swearing fealty, formally or not, and Thor feeling loyal back.

+ They decide to settle somewhere other than Earth, or are unable to settle on Earth for handwavey practical reasons. How does Bruce react to being stuck on an alien planet and maybe having to resign himself to never going home? How does he start to fit in? How does Asgard’s society start to rebuild itself? Are they on a planet that’s already inhabited, and if so, how do they work around that to avoid repeating the mistakes of Asgard’s colonial past? (Or are they in danger, as refugees, of being taken advantage of themselves?) Or are they settling a wilderness that may or may not be particularly temperate?

+ I’m also always happy to see hurt/comfort, loyalty kink, banter, prickly friendships, food, sleeping arrangements, etc. I’m fine with ships being worked into this, if you like: I ship Thor/Heimdall, Thor/Valkyrie, Thor/Bruce, Thor/Valkyrie/Bruce, Loki/Heimdall, Loki/Valkyrie, Loki/Bruce, Val/Heimdall, and Val/Heimdall/Thor.

Gamora/Loki/Nebula

+ Dark, gritty, clinging-to-each-other and using-each-other pre-Avengers scenario? They’re all stuck with Thanos and finding tentative comfort and stress release with each other while maybe bonding more than they intend to. Maybe Loki initially thinks he can use them or betray them for a better position, but then starts having feelings? Maybe they’re all able to escape together? What’s it like for Gamora and Nebula to suddenly deal with this newcomer?

+ AU where Loki is stuck with Thanos and his children for much longer, maybe even since he was a child. More angst and body modifications for everyone! Loki also getting folded into the incestuous tangle where he thinks of them as his sisters and they think of him as a brother even while they’re all fucking? I just really love people holding onto each other in very bleak, painful situations, inching their way towards being vulnerable to each other even when they don’t want to be and even when it might get them killed.

+ What if all three of them had escaped to Asgard together around the time of Ragnarok? They’re all codependent and inseparable, Loki hasn’t seen his brother for years and has been an assassin the whole time, Gamora and Nebula are suspicious of Asgard’s pageantry and then deeply uncomfortable being in the claustrophobic post-Ragnarok Asgard-in-exile. Anything.

+ Or the Guardians + Nebula are hired to protect the Asgardian refugees as they travel towards their new home, and Gamora and Nebula are surprised to run into Loki again...

+ I’d love to see the three of them moving in a gradual and difficult way towards redemption and dealing with their past crimes and mistakes--how do they all understand each other? How do they help each other out with that?

+ Pregnancy of any stripe except "Loki gets Gamora and/or Nebula pregnant": pregnant Loki, Gamora pregnant via Nebula, Nebula pregnant via Gamora, Gamora or Nebula pregnant specifically because of both lovers, anyone in the OT3 pregnant because of sex with a third party. I just want weird "coming together to protect someone and hypothetically keep this kid alive" stuff, with bonus tenderness and possibly possessiveness.

+ Bonus porn prompts: body modifications, xeno, Jotun sex, comfort sex, rough sex, posessiveness, body appreciation, sex magic, knifeplay, electrical play, temperature/ice play, tenderness.

Obadiah Stane/Tony Stark

+ The basic summary for all these prompts could just be "all the dirtybadwrong." If it's fucked up, skeevy, and full of emotional manipulation, possessiveness, and perversely fond condescension, it's excellent.

+ All the weird boundary-crossing. Obie playing a kind of smarmily parental role to Tony while also giving him a handjob? Obie using a younger Tony's issues with his dad to coax him into bed, convincing Tony that this is exactly the kind of rebellion Howard would hate most? Obie deliberately using a kind of faux-parental approval to appeal to Tony and withholding it if Tony's ever not in the mood or ever wondering if this relationship is what he wants after all?

+ Obie deliberately encouraging irresponsibility on Tony's part to keep him out of the way--procuring him high-quality drugs (and maybe some aphrodisiacs?), steering him back to drinking anytime it looks like he might sober up, etc.

+ "I swear, Tony, I had no idea that was going to be sex pollen." (He totally did.)

+ Obie likes making Tony sleep with other people, even if Tony's not sure he wants to. Maybe there's some pretense that it's for the good of the company. Maybe he just adds pressure and pressure, implying that this is what Tony should be doing, for whatever reason. Maybe Tony's infatuated with him, and Obie is intermittently rewarding that--and keeping him on a string--and also convincing Tony to put on little shows for him for his entertainment? Because it's just so hot, he explains.

+ Anything with a pleasant surface and sharks swimming underneath. Obie and Tony get pizza together right before Tony heads off on his fateful trip to Afghanistan, and Obie's unusually tender with him in bed--because he knows he's about to try to have him murdered.

+ Tony gets a little nervy and eager-to-please when he's done something to piss Obie off. It doesn't stop him from doing things to piss Obie off, but he really, really wants to make things right between them afterwards. Obie takes advantage of that.

Peter Parker/Tony Stark

[I'm fine with handwaving, AUing, for fixing Endgame in whatever way you like re: Tony's death, and FFH canon can be incorporated however you like. As for Tony/Pepper, I'm good with either "amiable exes" or "they were always close but they never actually dated."]

+ One of them dies under non-Endgame-related circumstances, and the other one keeps time looping and trying to figure out how to save their life (in a very complicated situation) as feelings gradually come to the fore/get admitted/get acted on. I'm fine with this being either a normal-for-the-MCU setup where it's just that there's a lot going on and a lot of danger they're having trouble protecting each other from or with something along the lines of Supernatural's "Mystery Spot," where it turns out that the repeated deaths are being orchestrated in some way and are sometimes tragic and sometimes comedically out-of-the-blue.

+ Peter gets dosed with something roughly equivalent to Ecstasy--so not exactly sex pollen, but more like something that makes him incredibly affectionate and open. Tony desperately tries to pretend that he's not interested. Then it wears off, and Peter is super-worried about what he said or did under the influence and also about whether or not he just conclusively found out Mr. Stark isn't interested in him after all…

+ They've started a relationship, but there's some key misunderstanding that's leading to pining-while-dating. Tony thinks that his main appeal is his ability to supply Peter with cool stuff, and even then, Peter will probably move on soon, so he's showering Peter with sugar daddy-style gifts and over-the-top financial benefits so that if the kid does leave, at least he'll be well-provided-for? All of which is leaving Peter seriously confused. Or Peter thinks that he's the only one with feelings and this is just another fling in a long line of flings for Tony? Or the internet declares their relationship an obvious sign of a midlife crisis, and he worries it might be accurate?

+ Post-Endgame, Tony is a ghost that only Peter can see--due to some Infinity Stone-related shenanigans of your choice--and so Peter starts working to bring him back. (Give or take some FFH-related worries that this might just be Quentin all over again.) Possibly via an unbreakable soul-bond that they both then worry they've inadvertently forced the other one into.

+ Peter gets temporarily unstuck in time and somehow keeps appearing at various moments along Tony's timeline--showing up to comfort or help him when he's being held captive in Afghanistan, turning up at various parties, hooking up with him in college, etc. Sort of like a weird Time Traveler's Wife scenario.

+ Hurt/comfort of any stripe, seriously. Some of my favorite tropes for them include accepting an injury to protect another, hiding injuries, continuing to use superpowers even though they hurt, hostage situations, magical trauma, and finding out about past trauma (if you want to combine this with my Tony/Obie prompts, I'd totally love Peter getting righteously angry on Tony's behalf).

Stephen Strange/Wong

+ The New York Sanctum is more effectively protected if its resident sorcerers are married, obviously, so they seal the deal for the good of the universe… with each being convinced that the other doesn't really have any feelings about it.

+ Ritual sex is required once, and it's a dramatic game-changer that they aren't quite prepared for? Are they already together, or does this act as a catalyst for their feelings in one way or another? If they haven't had sex beforehand, how do they get used to the idea? (I would also totally read "one of them is a secret virgin" in this scenario, regardless of the plausibility level.)

+ Ritual sex is required nearly constantly? Do they do an inadvertent slow burn "ritual sex partners to lovers" without really noticing because they have to fuck to avert the apocalypse about three times a week? How detailed are the ritual demands for sex--do they get into positions and actions? What's it like to comply with those when sometimes they're really in line with what they want and sometimes they're really not? Are they ever actively uncomfortable/traumatic? Are they ever surprised to be blown away by the hotness of something?

+ Any kind of sweet domesticity, really. Cooking for each other, sitting around eating ice cream, making little magical gestures, talking about books/movies/arcane magic/Beyonce, etc. Are they already doing all this stuff before they notice that hey, they should really combine this Totally Married state with actual sex?

+ The Cloak of Levitation acts as a matchmaker.

+ Bonus porn prompts: trippy magical sex with dimension-shifting and other phenomena, elaborate bondage, enthusiastic sex, tender sex, sleepy morning sex or lazy "I don't want to move that much" sex, hilariously bad or awkward sex, "I'm sorry but this ritual demands that I must edge you all day, I don't make the rules," bruising, writing on the body.

Star Trek: The Original Series
Christine Chapel/Mirror Nyota Uhura

+ Uhura's life in the Mirror Universe seemed particularly dangerous. I'd love to see her escape into the main Trek universe and get to integrate into a happier, more stable society--one that's she's maybe not well-equipped to deal with at first, given that stabbing people is frowned upon. Christine seems naturally caring and like a good choice to help Uhura figure out how to start fitting in, and I kind of love the potential for genuinely romantic stuff where falling in love with Christine helps open Mirror Uhura up to a new world where the people she knows are actually nice.

+ Christine is assigned to help tutor Uhura in Federation norms (maybe sometimes with the help of regular Uhura?). It turns out that one of the Mirrorverse norms involves rewarding helpfulness with oral sex, and this is one part of her old universe that Uhura doesn't really want to give up. Christine doesn't know whether or not she should be into it, but she is.

+ Christine winds up stranded in the Mirror Universe. Uhura finds out that she's not their Chapel--is the other Chapel still around? In the regular Federation universe? Killed by Uhura to protect current Chapel?--and agrees to cover for her, but she has things she wants in return. She doesn't expect to start developing feelings for this weirdly innocent, non-sadistic version of her friend. (Bonus points if Christine actually has a secret domme streak and is perfectly fine with sadism under consensual circumstances.)

+ Dubconny sex where Mirror Uhura and Mirror Chapel are together, and Christine thinks she has to maintain her Mirrorverse cover by going along with sex she's initially unsure about. Or regular Uhura and regular Chapel are together, and it's Mirror Uhura who is in regular Uhura's place and trying to maintain the fiction that she's the same person. If, that is, she can work out how loving girlfriends are supposed to behave in this universe.

Mirror Janice Rand/Mirror Nyota Uhura

+ I'd love to see these two playing long games to survive and even thrive. Do they try to maintain the current power structure for now, given that Sulu implies Kirk and Spock keep the worst of the Mirror Universe's on-bridge harassment in check? Or does one of them want to be captain one day, so they're looking at long-term strategies for climbing the ladder, with one of them committing the occasional murder for the other? Do they trust each other?

+ The novels have Rand's backstory as her coming from slavery and having a steep learning curve--if you want to adopt that or even just take the basic idea, I'm totally here for Uhura either buying Rand or buying her freedom (but expecting a certain amount of loyalty in return), and their relationship involving mutual feelings but unequal power. Basically just all the dark loyalty kink.

+ Do they start out just having sex and then slowly realize they're leaving themselves vulnerable to each other? Is "I was going to kill you, but then I changed my mind" the greatest confession of love in the Mirrorverse?

+ Any typical Trek fic scenarios filtered through the ultra-dark Mirrorverse lens: aliens make them have sex (and then they kill the aliens), they wind up soulbonded and at least initially hate it, one of them is captured and the other goes on a roaring rampage of rescue/revenge?

+ Any moments where they're virtually heartless with other people but not with each other, as much as they'd like to be. Really revengey hurt/comfort, trying to pretend that it's all about the sex, reluctant caring, kinky porn with emotions.

+ Uhura is promoted to Captain--following a typical Mirrorverse string of murders--and surprises Rand by taking her with her as the "Captain's woman," never mind that they've never been together before this. Does she have ulterior motives? Is Rand excited, terrified, fascinated, or some combination thereof?

The Terror
Captain Francis Crozier & Commander James Fitzjames
Captain Francis Crozier/Commander James Fitzjames

[I love these two both platonically and romantically, so I’m just grouping these prompts together: they can be bent in either direction.]

+ I know the fandom already has plenty AUs where they both survive and make it back home, but I love them so much that I’ll always want more of them. Having gone through hell together and gotten exceptionally close and interdependent and then suddenly being back in an environment where they’re supposed to behave "normally?" Dealing with the aftermath of scurvy and lead poisoning and, even more lingeringly, trauma and PTSD and guilt? Grappling with the reactions of the people back home who don’t know what to make of them? Does Crozier start drinking again, and how does Fitzjames deal with it if he does?

+ Looks at their evolving relationship after "A Mercy," when they finally start being on good terms, trusting each other and relying on each other? I’d love any look at their affection/friendship developing during this time. Are they surprised by coming to respect each other? What do they think of the changes in each other? Crozier’s are more obvious just by dint of him getting sober, but how does Fitzjames see him then, and how does he see James?

+ Any and all hurt/comfort, consolation, bedsharing, huddling for warmth, etc. My needs are simple. First kisses, first times, pining?

+ Did they ever really interact before the voyage? If so, did they always dislike each other, or did James start out admiring Francis only to get rebuffed by him? Or Francis start out liking him--maybe they met one-on-one, and James bragged less--only to then hear Fitzjames caricaturing him behind his back? Or did their relationship wax and wane? What if Crozier had known about Fitzjames’s origins from the beginning--would that have softened him towards him or become a weapon in one of their arguments? If Fitzjames knew Crozier knew, what would his reaction be?

+ Any kind of supernatural fix-it. One of them starts having foreboding dreams before the ships get stuck in the ice? Fitzjames dies and then wakes back up in the earlier days of the voyage with a drunken Crozier who still sees him as kind of a joke? (I’ve seen this idea bounced around and I love it.) A Groundhog Day loop where one or both of them keeps reliving one crucial day over and over again before they have all the info to make sense of why or what they’re supposed to do, so they have to work it out slowly? (And also potentially fall in love?)

+ AU where they survive to keep on making the trek, without us necessarily seeing them get back to England? I'd love to see anything set on their long, taxing journey across the ice.

Harry D. S. Goodsir/Lady Silence | Silna

+ I love Silna getting into bed with Goodsir and holding him when he’s breaking down and I’d happily read anything else along those lines--the two of them comforting each other, the two of them sharing a bed, etc. How did things shake out between them when Silna first returned to the camp with her tongue cut out and chaos all around? Once they’re all walking out, how does the rest of the crew react to the increasingly obvious fact that Silna and Goodsir are sharing a tent?

+ Sex--awkward, tender, fast because they’re both freezing? If it’s after Silna’s already cut out her own tongue and they can’t talk to each other, how do they make themselves understood, or try to? Can they convey to each other that this means something? (I’d also just love anything with the two of them working out means of silent communication generally. Full-on sign language, or just meaningful gestures and actions?)

+ Goodsir wanted to show Silna England, but I have to think she wouldn’t like it very much for a whole host of very good reasons. He, on the other hand, totally loved the Arctic, so I could totally get behind any happy or bittersweet endings that involve him staying behind with her. Maybe he chooses to? Maybe he’s the sole survivor and he just eases into it by default? How does he start to fit in, or awkwardly fail to? How does Silna balance her relationship with him with her shaman responsibilities? How does Goodsir relate to the tuunbaq and to Silna’s own abilities and connection with it?

+ The happiest of the happy ending AUs: Goodsir is actually able to stop Silna’s father from dying from Gore’s gunshot. She and her father stay in the ships’ orbit for a few months afterwards and Silna and Goodsir have time to get to know each other without an immediate cloud of grief, terror, and stress. Conversation practice, Goodsir compiling his dictionary, Silna showing him natural wonders he wouldn’t be able to find on his own, hookups in the privacy of Silna’s camp, general falling in love.

Wiseguy
Frank McPike & Carlotta Terranova

+ I would just welcome anything with Carlotta feeding Frank. She loves to caretake, and Frank desperately needs someone to sit him down and present him with a home-cooked meal. Let the guy hang out in her kitchen for a while, and that's all I need to make me happy.

+ Carlotta is in Europe on her honeymoon, and Vinnie's unable to break away from the job to go help her with something--but Frank agrees to fly out there to take care of some urgent, quasi-law-enforcement-related problem she's having. And I'd love to see her doing some undercover work for him too, in whatever capacity. We know she's good at it! Let Frank be the collective Terranova handler!

+ Conversely, Vinnie knows that Frank could use a little TLC, but he's too deep in a particular job to be able to take time out to go pat him on the shoulder or buy him a beer, so he manages to point his mom at Frank (while of course pretending to Frank that he totally didn't ask her to check in on him, of course not).

+ Anything with the two of them bonding over worrying about Vinnie. Maybe Carlotta initially isn't sure that Frank cares enough about her son? But then Vinnie gets hurt, or Frank gets hurt on Vinnie's behalf, and she gets to see it in action.

Dan "Lifeguard" Burroughs & Frank McPike & Vinnie Terranova
Dan "Lifeguard" Burroughs & Vinnie Terranova
Frank McPike & Vinnie Terranova

+ I'm lumping all these together because I just love the friendship and mutual protectiveness these three have in any of these combinations, and my prompts were very similar for the different combos.

+ I'd love any variety of hurt/comfort, even if it's a scenario the show has done before--I'm always up for seeing those situations done different/covered in more depth. The cops once again roughly haul Vinnie in for a crime they think he's committed, burying him in the system while Frank and/or Lifeguard work to get him out--and maybe to rain down a little righteous justice in the process? Frank or Lifeguard get tortured for information on OCB agents? Any or all of them have to deal with exhaustion, illness, overwork, and general mental stress, up to and including breakdowns? One of them gets drugged to the point of being totally out of it, and the other/others have to look out for him? Basically, shower down hurt and offer comfort to any of these characters, and I'll eat it up with a spoon.

+ Frank and Vinnie's little period of cohabitation could have lasted much, much longer as far as I was concerned. I'd love to see anything like that--more of them living together? More adventures at Lifeguard's cabin? Awkward room-sharing? Video games? Cooking together? Tentatively comforting someone after a nightmare? Winding up taking care of a dog or cat?

+ Maybe they could do some relatively lighthearted casework for a change. AU where Vinnie actually does use Dead Dog Records to offer Lifeguard a recording contract, or at least the equipment and studio time to put together an album? Frank or Lifeguard having to be the one to go undercover, with Vinnie giving them tips and enjoying the shoe being on the other foot? (Or getting irritated by it, once he's reminded once again of how powerless it can feel on the other end of the danger?) Borrowing from [personal profile] rachelmanija, I'd also totally love to see Vinnie undercover on Broadway--or maybe on the TV/movie side of the entertainment industry, now that he's dipped his toes in the water with Dead Dog. I'm also totally fine with darker cases, too--I'd be thrilled to see something that was basically just another episode of the show, including with twists like "Wiseguy, but supernatural" or "Wiseguy, but in space."

+ I love little moments of comfort and connection--Lifeguard turns off the tape recorders once again to talk to Vinnie, Vinnie looks after his handlers, post-episode fics, much-needed vacations, etc. I'd read about them playing Monopoly, seriously.

+ Terranova family dinners expand to include Lifeguard and/or Frank! Birthday gift-giving! Anything with sentimental gestures being made very awkwardly is totally my jam.

+ Lifeguard or Frank is around when Vinnie is having one of those uncomfortable run-ins with someone from the old neighborhood who thinks he's grown up to be a ruthless criminal, and they try to help him cope with it.

Sonny Steelgrave/Vinnie Terranova

Prompt-specific DNW: Vinnie going totally over to Sonny's side/becoming a criminal for real/torpedoing his career.

+ Anything set during their canon timeline relationship, but with bonus angsty sex and pining and inevitable tragedy. I love the way this kind of pining focuses on little intimate details, like, say--Sonny lights a cigarette for Vinnie and puts it in his own mouth first before passing it over, or clothes-sharing, or Sonny giving Vinnie things (and maybe Vinnie returning the gesture even when he feels uneasy about it).

+ I also like Just Two Guys Being Bros-style denial for these two, where it's something like "I'm super drunk and I only want you to give me a blowjob/handjob because there's not a woman around, no, seriously." Especially if there's eventually a dead giveaway sign that that's not remotely the actual situation.

+ Unexpected bits of tenderness--hair-touching, impulsive endearments, etc.--that make the tragedy even worse. Or hurt/comfort where Vinnie is hurt and Sonny is comforting him, which makes the hurt better but everything else dramatically worse.

+ Sonny's POV, either on an original scene or on something in the series--suspicions about Vinnie that he pushes aside or dismisses, his thoughts and feelings when he believes Vinnie's betrayed him to Patrice, falling in love while missing or misunderstanding Vinnie's occasional feelings of guilt about the whole thing, being drawn to Vinnie's moral compass (suppressed though it is while he's undercover) and bending to accommodate it despite what he thinks is his better judgment, general feelings of attraction and pining while he has no idea what's actually going on.

+ Mildly more optimistic AU version: Sonny used to be a gangster, but he turned for the OCB (for reasons of your choice) and is now a kind of informant with conflicting allegiances, sort of like a more-ensconced-in-crime and less-trusted version of Vinnie himself. He's supposed to be Vinnie's in with the local crime syndicates, but there are plenty of good reasons not to trust him completely. Together, they fight crime while having sexual tension and moral disagreements.

Vinnie Terranova & Bobby Travis

[Bobby Travis is in the long-lost Dead Dog Records arc, which Franzeska has kindly made available here, for which I am forever grateful, as these are all Bobby Travis Appreciation Prompts.]

+ I once called Bobby a "knowledgeable puppy on cocaine," and I stand by that, so anything with him just enthusiastically bouncing off the walls and showering Vinnie with music industry knowledge while Vinnie tries to figure out how to make practical use out of it--or tries to do a version of it that he'd actually be morally comfortable with--would delight me. I'm totally down with just a banter-heavy ficlet for their relationship.

+ Poor Bobby--everyone's always onto him about his big mouth, but he doesn't blow Vinnie's cover after all! He does it right! I'd like to see him get an attaboy for that. And if you wanted to go more dramatic and hurt/comforty, I'd love to see any situation where Bobby somehow manages to successfully cover for Vinnie when the stakes are especially high or when he's actually being pushed around for information. Maybe someone seeks him out for leverage on Vinnie in some post-arc storyline because it's known that they used to be partners in Dead Dog?

+ Post-Dead Dog reunion, where they're either just hanging out and actually being friends--Bobby's one of the few people who actually knows Vinnie's situation!--or where one of them needs the other's help with something. Maybe Vinnie needs Bobby to get him an in with someone in the business, or Vinnie finds himself agreeing to back Bobby up in some contentious music deal. Maybe Bobby keeps sending Vinnie new Dead Dog records unasked, and Vinnie keeps getting drawn back in to talk about the music.

+ Bobby somehow gets dosed with truth serum and therefore becomes Bobby Travis, Only More So.

+ Bobby manages to rescue Vinnie from trouble, against all odds. Even he can't entirely believe that he pulled that off.
